Three Oh

i have a little under 3 hours left until i enter my 4th decade of life…

its true…i turned 3o today….and i’m aware that some of you will think that is WAY old…while others of you will think i am still very much in my youth. i think that i fall somewhere in between those two thoughts!!

to commemorate the day, this is what my neighbor made for me and brought over last night:

right before jake threw me a paaarrrtay!!!
he even decorated…all by himself! look at the creativity!! (i wonder what blog he’s getting his ideas from??? :)
he strung up lots of old pictures around the house:

and had lots of my sweet fam and friends bring my fave desserts…check out this spread!

it was SO MUCH fun!!! afterall, its not that often that i get to have some of my favorite peeps all in the same place! (although i did miss some of you!) but i wish that every one of you could have been there, cause my peeps are the VERY BEST!!!

Jake and my parents pulled together some pretty hysterical pictures, some that i don’t think i’ve ever even seen!

so i thought you might get a laugh out of them…
and i’m curious if you are apart of the consensus who thinks that the little girl in these photos just might look like another little girl you all are familiar with!!

this picture was taken in 1987 (i think), when it snowed in Florida!!! that little snowman sat in our freezer for many many years!! (and sorry you aren’t in this picture, Pat…it was before your time!)
the good news is that i don’t have to wait around for it to snow again here, cause we’re heading out to continue the celebrations in the snowy mountaintops of COLORADO!!!

and i promise i’ll be checking in with you all!

ROAR,

ps: i’ve become aware of the need to clarify from my last post….first off, we are NOT moving to Haiti (yet! j/k)…or anywhere else overseas or even out of the state.

we are only planning to move to a different house in a different area of town! sorry to cause unneeded shock, confusion, and/or excitement!! stay tuned!

its official…

…the sign is in our front yard:

this is what we have been working towards the last few months, as many of you had already guessed. we really feel like God has asked us to step out and move, for reasons that He has been preparing us for for a long time. i am excited to tell you about those someday, but i’m short on time, so it’ll have to wait! but we are SO ready!

its already been playing out differently than i would’ve planned it, and God’s already taken us on a roller coaster with this whole “house on the market” thing, but He’s teaching me more and more about what real dependance and trust looks like as He crashes through my idol of control!

someone i didn’t know told me a few weeks ago that God had given her a vision of me and God on a big map, with a beautiful treasure at the end (not a monetary treasure…just a treasure…something that God was taking me to). she told me that she saw God taking me along this map, on our way to the treasure, and that some places along the way were very clear, and others were not clear at all, but that He wanted me to know that He was the One taking me to those places on our way to the treasure. i cannot tell you how much i’ve thought about that lately, and how i pray for trust and faith to believe and know God’s nearness!!

anyway…if you know of anyone who’d like to take this house off our hands and off the market, let me know!! :)

pray for us if you think about it! i’ll keep you posted!

and if any of you have any suggestions on how to keep a house spotless for showings with 2 small children and a busy life, i’d love to hear them! we had 3 showings yesterday and jake and i both CRASHED last night, exhausted already, and it was only our first day! Lord help us!!
