Eli’s Back!
our little Elf, Eli, has returned once more for the month of December, and has been up to all kinds of shenanigans once again.
he made his grand entrance in the middle of the night, apparently, because the next morning, we found him plastered to our back door:
at first, Berkeley wasn’t quite sure what to think of him. “really, mom…” is what this face is saying to me:
but seemed to warm up to him, when the next morning, we found him hanging on her play mat.
he gathered all our beloved puppies and organized a sack race:
Bella noticed right away that Eli was the clear winner:
we think Eli might’ve been feeling a little left out of Canaan’s and my nightly Harry Potter reading sessions, because we found him one morning dressed up as our favorite Griffindor, even donning the classic scar, and riding on his broomstick in the doorway:
He apparently was practicing his bubble blowing skills one night. seems as if he perfected an elf sized bubble…which, let me tell you, if i were to attempt myself, might just be much harder than it looks 😉
Bella lost her tooth one afternoon, and in the midst of the craziness of having a house full of neighborhood kiddos, and trying to get her to the bathroom without blood dripping all over my floors, i hastily put the tooth on the kitchen counter, thinking at that exact moment that it probably wasn’t a good spot for a little tooth, but being too distracted to let that thought settle. not at all to my surprise, when it was time to put the tooth under her pillow, it was no where to be found. needless to say, she was NOT very happy with her mommy for losing her tooth. in an attempt the explain the situation to the tooth fairy, and prove to her that she really was deserving of some money left under her pillow, she crafted this letter and begged me to include a picture of her:
sweet Eli knew of Bella’s anxiety over the situation, and not knowing that Monopoly money doesn’t hold much value in the real world (don’t you wish it did??), decided that he would have her covered just in case the Tooth Fairy didn’t show (which, for the record, she did. and even left a little extra for the lost lost tooth):
Eli must’ve known all about my kiddos obsession with lemonade stands this summer, and how they made close to $100 with their entrepreneurial skills (little does he know, that the cost of lemonade has risen lately, and .25 is not a great profit margin):
in honor of my birthday, he set up a little Princess photo shoot, knowing full well that he would be an elf after my own heart with that Nikon around his neck:
He had fun one night pretending to be a Matryoshka doll:
with these record high Florida temperatures lately, Eli decided to take advantage of some winter swimming:
but afraid that we may not find him in the morning, in true Elf fashion, he left us a little note on the back door:
Channeling his inner Jake, he stole the Dad coffee mug, made himself a cup, and read the daily newspaper. (Elves must be farsighted):
We woke up one morning to find Eli finishing up his WOD (workout of the day), complete with sweat bands and leg warmers. Bella was the first to notice that he was also sporting my all time favorite line of work out gear (www.hupernikaoinc.com). wasn’t too hard for her to recognize, apparently, because, according to her, i “wear it everyday.” tis the life of a SAHM…
and who doesn’t love a little game of Cornhole…especially when played with your girlfriend:
i’m wondering what he’ll be up to next. no really….i really am wondering. is it time for him to go home yet?? (momma is tired…and out of ideas…of what he could possibly do next!) any ideas?!
