it is well…

with my soul!
i feel like singing that today.

we are home from our journey to Haiti.

crazy how my soul can be refreshed after being in a Third World Country. but that’s the effect my friends in Haiti have on me.

i hated to leave you all hanging this last week, but it was up to the very minute of getting on that plane that we were still making decisions as to go or not. i had no time to update, and although someday i WILL blog from Haiti, this wasn’t the week to do so!

Canaan is perfectly healthy…Thank God! his heart was tested in every way imaginable, and it is perfect. fifteen minutes before we were leaving for the airport, he spiked a temperature. we were reassured by the doctor that it was not in any way related to his heart issues, and we pressed on, knowing that he was in good hands with my parents, and knowing that we still had some time before our plane took off if we needed to turn around and come back. the next morning, as we were boarding the plane, our poor guy began battling a nasty stomach bug, making him the sickest he’s ever been. as a mom, you can imagine the battle going on in me. but my sweet boy told me to go, it would be okay. i heard God confirm that. lots of tears were shed those first few days, but i know it was the decision that we were supposed to make. he is now completely healthy, and we are back together as a family.

i don’t have anything figured out, but i am very aware that the heavenlies are battling as we speak, so i would not be surprised in the least if all that was a sort of spiritual attack on our family. but God comforted my heart those first few days with these words from a song:

“Our God is Greater,
Our God is Stronger,
God you are Higher than any other.
Our God is Healer,
Awesome in Power,
Our God. Our God!”

as you can imagine, i have a lot to share about our time away. and pictures to go with it! and i have received all your emails now that i’m back, and i will answer them. i will post more about the party soon. the link for the flip flop cookies is now working, thanks for letting me know! thanks for your prayers too. i had the kind of peace that can only come from One Place, so i knew our family was being covered. THANK YOU!

Happy Sunday,
