shredding some gnar…
Jake and I got to take a bus load of high school kids up to West Virginia over the weekend for a ski retreat. the weather was perfect the first day, the slopes weren’t crowded at all, and we had a blast. the second day was bitterly cold, and the slopes iced quickly, but we still enjoyed ourselves, and even spent some time tubing. snow and cold weather are foreign to me, being the lifetime Floridian that I am, but i really really enjoyed it this time!
at one point, at the top of the mountain, i looked out and had to take a breath at the magnificence of creation. i am usually at the beach, so i get to see His power all the time in the ocean, but am rarely in the mountains, so i forget how crazy cool and creative God is to come up with something so immense and beautiful. it was a sweet reminder from Him that He has created this world and all that is in it all for us, so that we may know Him better. Colossians 1:16 says, “All things were created for Him and by Him…” To think that since the beginning of time, He has been using everything that exists to show us that He exists…and that He is magnificent too…and that all He desires is that we see it and come to Him…simply amazing!
