fun while it lasted

contrary to everything i believe in and the promises that we have made as parents to not allow video games in our house for our kids for a LONG time (if ever!), jake brought the Wii home from church so we could play it with pete and may, and we let the kids have a go on it for a bit. here are our little munchkins enjoying a game of Rock Band:

Later that night, I heard a loud thump from Canaan’s room and then heard him crying. i ran in to find him on the floor next to his bed. it soon became clear that he had fallen off. so while i was getting him all tucked back in, he told me that he had been having a dream that he was playing Mario Cart (for those of you who don’t know, its the game where you control the car on the screen by using a wireless wheel that is just like a steering wheel). anyway…he had been dreaming that he was playing Mario Cart and fell off his bed because he was moving around so much while playing in his dream. needless to say, the WII system is now safely out of our house and back at the church where it will stay for a while!!
