for those of my friends who aren’t able to see this in person (i’m especially thinking of you, Luanne), here are some pics of our beach today, thanks to Hurricane Irene.

just enough off our florida coast to give us BIG waves, lots of wind, bands of showers throughout the day, without all the scariness that can come along with a hurricane. praying that the Northeast will be able to say the same.
our morning started with rain before school, but we were prepared:
after school, we ran right out to check on the waves.
and watched as those waves inched closer and closer to our boardwalk:
bella thought she could boss the waves around a bit by telling them to stop:
but when that didn’t work, they just made a run for it!
our crazy friends washed up on shore after braving the big swell, and although canaan has been begging for 2 days to go surfing, our fam made sure to stay on dry land:
and this was the point where we decided it was time to head in:
quite the sites!! wish ya’ll were here to watch it with us.
also thinking about my little bro tonight, who is in his senior year of college as a Meteorology major (his dream since he was 3…no joke) and who is having an absolute hayday!! have fun, P-Rick!
and as a side note….the hubs and i went to see The Help tonight. i had read the book a few months back and LOVED it! the movie was one of the best i’ve ever seen. ever. and the hubs thought so too! go see it, even if you haven’t read the book. its worth the 20-ish bucks! (but you just might cry throughout the whole thing…don’t say i didn’t warn you!)
