Parties on the brain
i really need to decide in the next day or two what i’m going to do for the kids’ b-days. as a side, i’m well aware that in the big picture, and especially in light of Haiti and everything going on in the world, birthday parties are really not worth a darn thing. but i love making memories for my kids, and celebrating them and the precious gifts they are is one thing that is super important to me. i know there are many many ways do to that, but i love any chance i get to celebrate, and planning a fun party for them really just floats my boat! so, as i’m trying to keep that in perspective, i’ll continue by showing you the boy’s 4th b-day party…one of my favs!
we decided to host a “Canaan’s Candy Shoppe” party:
take note that there is not one bit of chocolate in Canaan’s Candy Shoppe…he won’t touch anything having to do with chocolate! crazy, huh?
(these were obviously very homemade, in an attempt to save some money!)

The Favors:
adults got to take home a bag of homemade cookies with a tag that said, “Thanks for making my day ‘sweet’!”
the kids got to fill bags with candy from “Canaan’s Candy Shoppe” and also each got a candy scented bath paint.

The Cake:
crafted after a Candyland game board
i’m pretty sure the kids took full advantage of being allowed to eat candy non-stop for 2 hours!
