trip prep
our fam, along with jake’s parents and siblings, are all going on a pretty fun trip this weekend to take the crazies to see snow up in the mountains! we found an amazing cabin where all 10 of us can stay together for a price that you wouldn’t believe if i told you! so pumped!!!
here are some ways we’ve been preparing for our trip:
1) doing laundry…i was beckoned into the laundry room/art gallery with “mommy! we’re ready to be washed!” and found this:
and realizing that, as i was folding the freshly washed clothes, that somehow silly putty not only went through the washer, but also through an entire drying cycle:
2) pulling together every single piece of somewhat warm clothing we own (which includes yellow duck galoshes)
3) knitting the boy his first scarf…can you tell its my first attempt at knitting??…you don’t have to look too closely to figure that out!
4) distracting the kiddos with some fun activities, like painting with watercolors…which yielded this result on my wall: (must have forgotten in the midst of the packing and laundry that supervising little artists might just need to be added to the “to do” list)
5) trying out our boots. (for the record, i’m fully aware that my boots might be cute if i’m 7 years old, but definitely not so much at 29. there were slim pickings for a boot budget of under $10, and after scouring every single store, this is what i ended up with…but at least my feet will be warm, and you can be sure that i will proudly wear them all weekend…but maybe never again after that!!)
6) and last but not least…practicing our snow angels in the middle of the kitchen floor!
can’t wait to post more about our trip! and if you think about it, please pray for safety and snow…
